Just Horsing Around...

I've never ridden a horse.  

That's not completely true.  I have a very vague memory of being on the back of one in my early early years, feeling in control and completely oblivious to the trained handler guiding me around.  But I've never truly ridden, never felt that rush of wind or the connection I imagine most riders feel.  

I've also not tried drawing one in a long, long time.  To break up the monotony of my usual artistic endeavors I thought I'd break out of my comfort zone and try something newish.  I very rarely draw from life anymore (which is probably the most terrible thing an artist can say,) so it felt good to flex a little and get some quick sketches out.  

I'm going back to the comfort zone now...

A Short Break

So I've been working on some layouts for an upcoming comic project lately, pretty much all I've been doing really.  To try and stay disciplined I told myself that'd be all I'd focus on, but I still sneak random sketches in to break things up now and then.  Nothing gets between TheGraphitist and his pad (analog or digital.)

I've been using Sketchbook Pro on a Windows 8 tablet (do yourself a favor and just get a Note 10.1), and this was a loose sketch that'll probably go all the way..just waiting for the next break.

It's been a while since I had an update.  This wasn't drawn too recently, maybe a month ago?  Between various sketchbooks, papers, and programs, I'm having a hard time keeping up with what's what.  And that's not a bad thing at all..

So the work's all done for my overnight shift, but I can't leave until somebody else shows up. Time to lay something down..

My first attempt ended quickly when I started coloring his hoodie red by mistake. My fellow Ronin would be disappointed..

Logan Likes Panera

Hooded Christmas

A late Merry Christmas is better than none at all...

Vega from Street Fighter is one of may favorite characters to draw.  It all stems back from the original anime movie, specifically the scene where he fights Chun Li, he just seemed so deadly there.
